The Problem: Design a page and the associated proportions based on a book.
The Solution: The page design is based on the book, Life of Pi. The Golden (Divine) ratio was used to create the page proportion. This reflects the association with a deeper understanding of spirituality in life; the underlying theme of the novel. Text blocks and margins were created with the use of Jan Tschichold's secret canon. Further attention to type size, leading, folios, drop caps, and indents have been influenced by the typographic style of Robert Bringhurst.
